Accelerus and the Victorian Curriculum
This page contains resources required by Accelerus schools to meet their Victorian Curriculum requirements using Accelerus, as set by the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority (VCAA), Victorian Department of Education and Training (DET), and the Catholic Education Office.
Schools requiring clarification on the reporting and assessment requirements of the Victorian Curriculum (VC) should contact the Department of Education and Training (DET) or the Catholic Education Office, in the case of Victorian Catholic Schools.
2026 Victorian Curriculum Changes
In 2025, Mathematics Version 2 was made mandatory but Version 1 was still available for pre-Foundation Levels A to D. In 2026, Version 1 is no longer available at all and the 2026 Quick Setup structures for Victorian government schools only include a single Mathematic learning area and no strands.
Progressing Towards or ‘PT’ score
Another change that occurred in 2025 is the ‘Progressing Towards’ or ‘PT’ score. Schools are reminded that the ‘PT’ score should only be used to assess students who have not yet reached the lowest level provided for the relevant curriculum area.
2026 Victorian Curriculum Structures
The Quick Setup features of Accelerus use specific structure files which contain the latest requirements for assessing and reporting on the Victorian Curriculum. Quick Setup structures for 2026 have now been prepared based on the latest specifications of the Victorian Department of Education. Structures for Catholic schools are from 2024 as we have not been informed of further changes by the Catholic Education Office since then.
There may be cases where a school requires a copy of the structure to import into their Accelerus database. If so, the four different structure files found below may be downloaded, unzipped and then imported into Accelerus Web via School Settings and Tools > Expansion Packs.
